High white blood cell count …?
I had my blood taken one and a half ago and my WBC was elevated at 13.4, to the neutrophils and monocytes 8.92 to 1.07 is that a high elevation? Recently (in the last week) have reached this skin rash that is mostly only bites especially in legs. Do not try to scratch the legs but I have been. I have some very small bruises on both my outer thighs. I called my dr and said it was scratching me and if he Probally does not disappear in a week come in. Well, I've never beaten this easily before. Really has no bruiising anywhere else in my body. What worries me is the level high and bruises on. Could this be leukemia?
A WBC count of 13.4 is not anything I would lose sleep, as it is not that high. The increase may be related to the rash, but more likely a coincidence. It is important that your doctor does not note the presence of abnormal cells that could be an indicator greater of leukemia that a high leukocyte count. Bruising on the upper thigh is almost certainly due to mechanical trauma. If you're seeing a lot of bruises on somewhat lower legs, then I suggest some further work with blood, but recent blood count certainly includes a platelet count, and it was marked as abnormal, so relax, and try to stop scratching so much.
