Caught skin rash on face

Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease caused by a virus belonging to the herpes family. The virus known as varicella-zoster virus and also as the herpes zoster. Not only chickenpox is produced by it but shingles is too.

Chickenpox occurs mostly during late winter and the beginning of the spring. It usually affects children aged 2-8 and can take the form of epidemics.

If an infected person coughs or sneezes, the virus spreads in the air and be caught by other healthy subjects while breathing. The virus is known to be present in the body long before the rash appears, this is why why there are so many cases of contamination.

After the virus entered his body usually needs two weeks to develop, and only then the rash appears. But this does not mean they are not contagious in these two weeks.

The symptoms of chickenpox are fever, itching, red bumps that transform into round blisters with red edges. These blisters crust over and finally dried. At least 5 days the infected person should not come into close contact with people who have not suffered from chickenpox and children should not go to school because they can infect others. Pregnant women who have chickenpox before are safe and so is your baby. If she has not made the chickenpox and got in contact with an infected person, the doctor can administer antibodies of chickenpox within 4 days of a possible pollution. After the dry scabs form the pollution rate will decrease.

After the disease was over the virus does not disappear completely, poured into nerve cells and remain inactive for some years. At some point, when the immune system malfunctions virus is reactivated and cause shingles. This is a painful disease that affects the face and trunk nerves and also causes a rash to appear.

The person infected chicken pox will also be prohibited to fly because the air conditioning on planes more easily transmit the virus to other passengers. The virus is dangerous for those who have AIDS, cancer or treatment with immunosuppressive drugs. Only those who have a good immune response and for those who have been vaccinated against chickenpox will not develop the disease.
