Pure bread chocolate lab with skin rash, itching problems?
My parents have a chocolate lab and only recently back skin started to peel like dry and flaky. Now, ears and elbows he's getting rashes and patches of skin or hair missing. We have tried Flea many medications to score chlorine treated water, tried bathing almost daily. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. My dog is around them every day and not have any of these symptoms if this information helps. I appreciate any response and thanks for seriousness. Just FYI, this is not my dog. if I could afford it, we will gladly take him to a vet and I was thinking it was the best. I was looking online to see if someone knew what it could be and whether there was anything I could do about it. the animal is abused in any way and is not so bad, it is only in places that caused me concern. thanks
I can not make a diagnosis without examining your dog, but it sounds to either dry skin or allergic reactions. The best thing to do is buy a unscented dog shampoo for sensitive skin, the best place to get that is at the vet. Then mix that with a little warm water in a bucket of some class and "landfill" that in your dog. Let it dry by itself and that should help. Just remember that your skin will get worse before it gets better, because washing will all the dead skin to the surface. Hope that helps.
