What to do with a dog with bad allergies?
My dog has very bad skin allergies, the vet does not seem to be able to resolve. It comes and goes and lasts approximately a month. During that month gets red spots and areas splothcy everything in its bottom. She begins to lick and scratch at their arms until they are raw and bleeding. His whole body ends in a massive scabs and still has the rash like symptoms. Right now I have an erosion of its ecollar almost 24 / 7, give two doses of Benadryl a day, washed regularly, and apply hydrocortisone 2-3x one days. But she is still itchy, uncomfortable and obviously depression. All new ideas out there? I'm desperate!
Have you tried changing your diet? Sometimes you need to try several different foods before finding one that agrees with your dog. Or, if a very allergic dog I had, I could not eat pellets at all and had to make myself food (fish, potatoes and vegetables).
